Copper heavy, zinc slab and tin slab further down
Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) Copper heavy in ferrous metals and zinc slab and tin slab in non-ferrous metals further fell today on heavy selling pressure by stockists and bearish trend from London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
Copper heavy, which was down by Rs 300 yesterday, further declined by Rs 100 to close at Rs 36,100 per quintal on lower buying support.
Other important metals namely copper utensils, brass utensils, brass cuttings and aluminium utensils remained unaltered on scattered buying by bulk consumers, traders said.
In non-ferrous metals, zinc slab also fell by Rs 100 per quintal and ended at Rs 10,100 on sluggish demand by local dealers in view of weak global advice.
Tin slab eased by Rs 5 to finish at Rs 1,070 per kg.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 36,100, copper utensils - Rs 34,100, brass utensils - Rs 25,200, brass cuttings - Rs 26,200 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,900.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 39,400, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,400, zinc slab - Rs 10,100, lead ingots - Rs 10,500, tin slab - Rs 1,070 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 990 per kg.
