Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today announced an aid of Rs four lakh from his relief fund to the family, which lost four members after the compressor of a refrigerator exploded in Indira Nagar slums at Sakinaka, a western suburb on September 16.
The Chief Minister handed over a cheque of the amount to Abdul Shaikh, a member of the family, at Mantralaya today, a release said here today.
The explosion had occurred in the house of Abdul Shaikh at around 2300 hrs on September 16. It caused a short circuit leading to fire, in which the four family members suffered burn injuries. They were rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, where the doctors declared them brought dead.
The dead were identified as Mohammed Shamim Abdul Sheikh (20), Najnina Mohammed Shamim Sheikh (18), Mohammed Alim Abdul Kamal Sheikh (19) and Mohammed Kalim Abdul Kalam Sheikh (17).
