Centre to constitute Ad-Hoc national federation of SHGs
New Delhi, Sep 19 (UNI) The Ministry of Rural Development has decided to constitute an Adhoc National Federation of the Self Help Groups (SHGs) to promote their role in employment generation.
This Federation will be headed by Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh as ex-officio Chairperson, while the Secretary in the Department of Rural Development and State Secretaries to the Rural Development from the state government of Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Tripura And Jharkhand will be the ex-officio Members.
Chief General Manager of NABARD A Ramanathan will be the Member and Mr Amar Singh, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development will be the Member Secretary of this Ad-hoc Federation. The representatives from the following NGOs: R K Mission, MYRADA, Dhan Foundation, SEWA and Niranter and One representative of the SHG Federations from each state will be nominated as member by the Centre.
Besibes, Mr N K Singh, Adviser WASSAN, Secunderabad, expert in input management; Smt Neelima Khaitan, Chief Executive, Seva Mandir Udaipur, Expert in social mobilisation; CEO, KVIC as expert in marketing linkages: Ms Achla Sabyasachi, Sa-Dhan, New Delhi, expert in credit inputs and Mr R K Sinha, Chairman&Managing Director, Security&Intelligence Services (India) Limited, expert in skill development and the HRD will also be included in the federation as members.
