CCTVs likely to be installed at Vaishno Devi
Jammu, Sep 19 (UNI) Following terror threats in the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, the state police in a bid to keep a close watch on suspicious movements may install Closed Circuit TV cameras (CCTVs) at various religious places including the world famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine situated on Trikuta Hills in Reasi district, sources here said.
''The government is considering the plan to install CCTVs inside the holy cave shrine and the surrounding areas of the Bhawan,'' well placed sources told UNI asserting, ''the project has not been finalised yet but the idea has been conceived in order to keep surveillance on anti-national and suspicious movements in and around the holy shrine.'' However, the cameras may also be installed at the sensitive places at Katra, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine while various hoteliers and lodge owners have also been instructed by the police authorities to maintain record of the visitors.
''The hotel owners at Katra have also given nod to the idea while CCTVs may also act as watchdogs inside hotels, lodges and restaurants,'' sources added.
