Vijaywada,Sep 19(UNI) With a view to highlighting the role of magicians in social change and to promote scientific temper, Atheist Centre would organise a one-day magic festival here on September 21 to dispel superstitions.
Addressing a press conference, wellknown medical-science writer Dr Samaram said more than 100 magicians from all over the state would participate in the festival.
He said magic was not only a means of entertainment and awe but also an effective means to inculcate critical-thinking and spirit of enquiry so that people could shed their superstitions and blind beleifs.
The magic festival was distinctly different from earlier ones and aimed at promoting social change.
The Convener of the Magic Festival, Magician Gowtham said people were free to participate in the festival where a gala show of magic to be organised as part of the festival on that day.
