Aero Club to host 'Malabar air fete'

Kozhikode, Sep 19 (UNI) Several NCC cadets, college students and local people from Kannur and Kozhikode districts are expected to participate in ''Malabar Air Festivel,'' an adventure sports beginning here on September 21.

Organised by the Royal Aero Club (RAC), the month-long programme, include exhibition, para sailing camp, para gliding basic training, hot air ballon, powered hang glider, ultra violet aircraft exercise, kayaking, rafting, river crossing, aero modelling aviation seminar, aviation quiz and fashion parade, among other things, Club chairman Safar Ahmed told reporters here today.

Apart from Kozhikode, the events would be held at Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach in Kannur district. The primary object of the progamme was to impart training to youth in adventure sports, he said.

The RAC is planning to conduct a camp for tribals in water sports, river crossing, kayaking rafting and basic course in para-gliding in neighbouring Wayanad district from November one, he added.
