It may sound strange and obviously difficult to believe, but it is true, a hen on Friday, Sep 19 laid eggs with snake inside the shell at Samthu village under Angarghat police station in the district. A villager Kishore Jagdish Kumar bought an egg from his co-villager Bahadur Ram to prepare some recepie. He broke the eggs in the frying pan and was surprised and shocked to see a snake of about 4 to 5 inches coming out of the shell. Mr Kumar informed Bahadur Ram who domesticates hens on a very small scale. He carefully monitored his hen and took out the egg she laid during the day. Soon after breaking the shell, he too was taken aback to see little snake of about 2 to 3 inches inside them.
On getting the information, a team of veterinary doctors led by the animal husbandry officer of Ujiyarpur block Dr Ajay Kumar went to the house of Bahadur Ram in the village to look into the matter with research point of view.
The team took away the hen, its eggs and the baby snake that came out of the egg shell for further research.
Dr Kumar said that the incidence of finding baby snake inside the shell of an egg of hen was ''unbelievable'' and ''strange''.
Meanwhile Mukhiya of Rewari panchayat under Ujiyarpur block Arvind Pandey said that people were frightened of consuming eggs in the village.
The sale of eggs also declined in the village since the incident occurred, he informed.
