Tiruchirapalli, Sep 18 (UNI) Tamil Nadu BJP President L Ganesan today said the people will vote out the Congress-DMK alliance in the coming Lok Sabha election.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the people were totally against the Congress and the DMK for their ''anti-people'' attitude.
Replying to a question, he said the BJP has yet to decide on its alliance partners in the coming Lok Sabha election. However, the party was holding unofficial talks with several parties, including the AIADMK for forging a viable alternative to the Congress-led UPA.
Mr Ganesan said as far as the BJP was concerned, it had already commenced its field work for the coming Lok Sabha election. Booth committees had been constituted in all the 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu, he added.
Criticising the Rs one per kg rice scheme implemented by the DMK Government in Tamil Nadu, Mr Ganesan said it was not a good scheme as the rice supplied under the scheme was not up to the expected quality. This scheme would further encourage rice smuggling, he added.
He said the Tamil Nadu State BJP's General Council Meeting would be held at Salem on September 27.
To a question, he charged the UPA Government at the Centre with deceiving the minority community by extending its concessions to the Dalit Chrisitians only. To condemn this, the party would hold a nationwide demonstration at New Delhi on September 21, he added.
Responding to another querry, he said the outcome of the Assembly elections to the six state would reflect in the coming Lok Sabha election.
He said the 123 Agreement on the nuclear Pact with the US would not serve any purpose for India. The BJP had already undertaken a campaign over this for explaining the disadvantages of the nuclear pact and the party would intensify it further, he added.
