Nitish Govt fails to provide relief to flood victims in Bihar
Patna, Sep 18 (UNI) The Congress today alleged that despite ''tall'' claims of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the state government had failed to provide the much needed relief to the victims of the flood -ravaged areas of North Bihar.
President of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee(BPCC) Anil Kumar Sharma told news persons here that during the seven-day-long visit of the Congress team in the flood-hit areas it had found ''gross irregularities'' in distribution of relief matrials among the victims.
'' It is distressing to note that political consideration was visible in distribution of relief matrials in the flood-hit districts of North Bihar, '' he said adding the Nitish Kumar government should desist from such activities in this hour of natural calamity.
Mr Sharma alleged that the flood victims in mega relief camps had been forced to eat substandard edibles, while the Chief Minister was not losing any opportunity to claim that quality foodstuffs were being served among the victims.
The state government should take remedial measures without further loss of time, he added.
