Kathmandu, Sep 18 (UNI) Nepal's veteran politician and former prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala has said Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's assertion not to accept the parliamentary democracy or establish socialism immediately is a threat to the Maoist itself, mediareports said here today.
While furnishing replies at the Legislature-Parliament meeting on Sunday, Dahal had said since the country was passing through a transitional phase, his party was neither in a position to accept the existing parliamentary system nor establish socialism immediately.
''The Prime Minister knitted web of words to establish communism in the country but now he has been trapped in the same web,'' Kantipur quoted Koirala as saying while speaking at a programme here.
Koirala said, ''Socialism is a fusion of communism and parliamentary democracy and the Nepali Congress (NC) has also embraced the same. The NC need not caricature any other parties as it has its own strong background.'' He urged all its fringe parties to recall its revolutionary history and march forward by witnessing the same.
NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba who was also present at the programme urged all the youths of the party to get ready as the responsibility to run the new era has been transferred onto their shoulders.
