Villagers hold demonstration for lodging murder case
Kota, Sep 17 (UNI) A group of villagers today demonstrated outside the Inspector General of Police office here demanding to lodge a case of the murder of a youth, found in a pond in Morepa village.
The body of Mahavir Meena(18) was found in the pond near Morepa village under Kaithun police station in the district yesterday.
The police had lodged a case of accidental death and handed over the body to the family after a post-mortem.
However, the relatives of the deceased were dissatisfied over the police action and wanted to lodge a case of murder against their rival group, Ramnarayan, Pannalal and their family.
The family suspected that Mahavir was killed by the rival group because of an old enmity. However, police ignored their demand.
Subsequently, Mahavir's relatives and local denizens held a demonstration with the body outside the Kaithun police station and shifted their dharna outside the IG office in Kota.
Later, police conceded their demand and a case of murder was lodged against ten accused, named by the family.
