US envoy announces Rs 11.5 cr relief for Bihar flood victims
New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) US Ambassador to India David Mulford today announced that the United States will contribute an additional Rs 11.4 crore (US 2.5 million dollars) to provide relief to the victims of the recent floods in Bihar.
Expressing sympathy with the victims on behalf of the American people, Mr Mulford said his country was ready to provide further support as needed.
''When Americans see suffering, as in Bihar, we want to help,'' the Ambassador said.
The US had contributed Rs 46 lakh for Bihar relief last month, but keeping in view the increasing magnitude of the disaster, it has come out with additional support.
