New Delhi, Sept 17 : The Union Cabinet will meet here today in a special session apparently to discuss the spate of terror attacks in the country in the wake of the serial blasts in Delhi.
According to sources, the meeting has been convened by the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh after Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav made an open demand for such a meeting to discuss threadbare issues arising out of the Delhi blasts.
Yadav had also demanded a meeting of all political parties to discuss the situation andccused Intelligence agencies of not being upto the mark and urged them to strengthen their network.
Five bombs exploded in quick succession in crowded markets and busy streets in Delhi on Saturday, killing 20 and injuring at least 90.
Two bombs went off in dustbins in and around Connaught Place, a shopping and dining area popular with tourists and locals in the city centre but the maximum causalities were caused by a bomb placed in an auto-rickshaw in a crowded market. The bombs exploded within minutes of each other.
Jaipur, Ahmadabad and Bengaluru were hit by serial blasts in recent months killing and injuring hundreds of people.
