Two-day state cabinet meet begins
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Sep 17 (UNI) The two-day special Maharashtra cabinet meeting began today at the Divisional Commissionerate, amid tight security.
A special package for the backward region of Marathwada is expected to be announced.
According to official sources, Chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh is presiding over the meeting, attended among others by Deputy chief minister R R Patil and 43 other ministers, including 26 of cabinet rank.
About 54 secretary-rank officials and 37 private secertaries are in the city for the meeting.
The chief minister would announce the Cabinet decisions at a press conference here tomorrow.
