Sagar, MP, Sep 17 (UNI) A young woman, a victim of human trafficking, along with her three minor children has been putting up at the footpath here for the last few days and sought maintenance from the police administration.
In a memorandum handed over to Superintendent of Police Harisingh Yadav, the victim alleged that in 1988 local Cant-resident Siyarani alias Binawal called her at the latter's house and offered her something to drink after which she fell unconscious.
When she regained consciousness, she found herself in a house in Morena district, where, she was told, she was sold to Shersingh, who sexually exploited her and kept her in confinement.
''In the last 20 years, she had three children in age group of 3 to 12 years. On getting a chance, she managed to escape from his clutches and came back here last week,'' she said.
Since her family members refused to accept, her neighbours came forward to help her with food.
While seeking maintenance from the police administration, the 35-year-old victim appealed the police to take stringent action against her exploiters.
''On the basis of the memorandum, a directive has been issued to the Cant area Station House Officer to investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, the victim's family has been asked to provide her shelter till proper arrangement was made,'' Mr Yadav added.
