New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) The Gujarat government today informed the Supreme Court that the chargesheet in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case has already been filed and a supplementary chargesheet is also about to come.

Senior Counsel Mukul Rohtagi, appearing for the state government, also told a bench comprising Justices Tarun Chatterjee and M K Sharma that Andhra Pradesh police should cooperate in the investigation against some of their police officials, who were also facing allegations of involvement in the fake encounter that took place in November, 2005.

Additional Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium, who is also an amicus curiae in the case, however, submitted before the court that this was a serious matter since Gujarat police, even after three years, was saying that Kausar Bi, wife of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, might have also been killed.

The apex court adjourned, till September 24, the hearing of the petition filed by Rubabuddin Sheikh, brother of Sohrabuddin, seeking a CBI inquiry into the killings of his brother and sister-in-law in the fake encounter.

Seven police officers, including the then DIG ATS Gujarat D G Vanzara, former SP Udaipur, Rajasthan M N Dinesh and a DSP of Gujarat Police Dr Narendra Amin, are facing trial for their alleged involvement in the fake encounter killing.

Mr Rohtagi also contended that at the end of the day it was not for this court to say that a particular line has not been included in the chargesheet.
