Washington, Sept 16 : Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin has attracted much attention for her bun-and-bangs hairstyle. Now, the women who is responsible for her much admired hairdo has revealed the secret behind the look.
Jessica Steele, the owner of the Beehive Beauty Shop in Wasilla, Alaska, where Palin has been a regular customer for the past six years, has revealed why the 44-year-old Alaska governor and mother of five decided to go with her updo.
"She's very involved in her look and how she's perceived," Usmagazine.com quoted Steele, as telling the New York Times.
"We would talk a lot about how if she looked too pretty or too sexy, people wouldn't listen to her [and] how important it was for people to see her as an intelligent, smart woman.
"Sarah wanted to look more professional and ready to work and not come across as high maintenance and fussy.
Steele added that the style made her look taller.
"It was comical when her hair was down, how big a difference that would make, especially when she was running for governor," she added.
