Washington, Sept 17 : Teen sensation Miley Cyrus will be starring in a new Disney film, which will be an untitled adaptation of a novel by author Nicholas Sparks, written specially for the 'Hannah Montana' star.
Sparks is working on an untitled novel and at the same time writing the screenplay adaptation for the film.
Disney-based Offspring Entertainment partners Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot will produce the new film and Tish Cyrus will be exec producer.
The idea for the film, according to Gibgot, came when Disney exec Jason Reed met the actress, and she mentioned "A Walk to Remember" as an example of what she hoped for.
Later, Sparks wrote a premise for a novel, which suited Cyrus, as well as her family and the producers.
Now, the team is keeping the plot under wraps.
"This is similar to the way it's gone with movies based on my novels; it's just out of order. Certain opportunities garner your interest, and this was one of those," Variety quoted Sparks, as saying.
He added that Miley Cyrus and her family "were very familiar with the work I've done in the past. That played a role in this project coming together."
