Gangtok, Sep 17: Bimal Gurung, the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) president has reiterated that Gorkhaland will happen by March 2010. He also appealed to the people to stand shoulder to shoulder with the party's democratic protests. ''I am asking for only three years to the people of Darjeeling to support me'', he said on Tuesday, Sep 16 during a public meeting at Rangpo near Gangtok.
Gurung appealed to supporters to wear traditional attire for one month during Dussehra and Diwali. ''We want to tell the world that we are totally different from West Bengal'', he added. Highlighting the success of the recent tripartite talks, Gurung said the first door for Gorkhaland has now opened. ''The tripartite talks was a draw but in November we will get full points on the basis of our documents and constitutional provisions'', he said.
