Goa CEO assures prompt action against Monseratte
Panaji, Sep 17 (UNI) The Chief Electoral Officer of Goa Ajit Srivastava today assured that prompt action in accordance with the law would be taken against State Education Minister Atanasio (Babush) Minseratte for having lied in affidavit about his educational qualification.
He gave this assurance to a delegation of Utt Goenkara, a voluntary orgnisation, led by spokesman Adv Aires Rodrigues, today met the Chief Electoral Officer and handed him a copy of the evidence, which established that Mr Monseratte had lied in affidavit that he had passed second year of Bachelor of Arts while he had passed only Standard VII.
He told Mr Srivastava that the Minister was misuing his authority by pressurising the returning officer to delay the inquiry against him.
Adv Rodrigues also informed Mr Srivastava that Mr Monseratte was trying to tamper with the evidence against him by trying to manipulate the records.
