Cong reiterates Vindhya Pradesh demand
Rewa, MP, Sep 17 (UNI) Reiterating the demand for a separate Vindhya Pradesh, former Madhya Pradesh Assembly speaker Sriniwas Tiwari today felt that would be the sole way to ensure development of this state's natural resource-rich Vindhya region.
''The issue should be made part of the Congress manifesto. A Congress victory is certain in the November vidhan sabha polls. Once our party's government comes to power I will apply my full force for a separate state,'' the Vindhya region stalwart told journalists prior to a 'Vijay Sankalp Parv' and Congress 'Mahasammelan' here to mark his 83rd birthday.
Alleging that the region was yet to witness development, Mr Tiwari added that the chief reason behind it was that it was not a separate state and assured that his struggle would never cease until the objective was attained.
