Abhishek shocked, disturbed by Delhi blasts
New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) The September 13 blasts in Delhi, which left the entire nation in a state of shock, have deeply affected Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan.
Abhishek, who happened to be in Delhi and close to Connaught Place on Saturday, when the blasts occurred, has said the human tragedy caused by it left him perturbed.
''I was near Connaught Place when I heard a loud bang. I turned around since I was getting late for an event. It was only after reaching home that I saw the scenes of the blast on TV.
''It was really horrifying and shocking. Infact, at that time I was left too shocked and speechless,'' Abhishek told a TV channel last night.
The sense of shock led Abhishek to call off the event as well as some interviews he was to give the following day.
Speaking to the news channel 'Headlines Today', the actor said, ''The intention of cancelling the event was not to cut short any activity. I called on the event out of sensitivity to the situation and safety of the guests that had come to attend the function.
''At
a
point
like
this,
I
am
sure
everybody
wants
to
be
back
home
with
their
families...the
decision
was
to
say
that
whoever
wanted
to
go
back
home
should
do
so.'' On
his
cancelling
interviews
scheduled
the
next
day,
Abhishek
said,
''I
thought
it
was
wrong
to
do
an
interview
where
we
would
talk
about
something
which
was
different
from
what
the
situation
in
the
city
was.''
