Tech giants move towards a 'greener' production
Bangalore, Sep 16 (UNI) Nokia has bounced back from penalty position to top position due to its improved take-back practice in India in the latest version of Greenpeace Guide to Green Electronics.
Greenpeace Toxic Campaigner Abhishek Pratap told reporters here that Wipro and HCL continue to be proactively moving towards cleaner and greener production.
However, Zenith slips to the bottom in the ranking with an 'all nil' because of its withdrawal of information from the company websites, he said.
The latest ranking guide shows there is a close competition between HCL and Wipro, he said.
''So far, no company has released a computer completely free of BFRs and PVC though several have recently launched new products with restricted amoung ot toxic BFRs and PVC, he said.
Philips stands out as the company with the worst position on e-wastes and recycling, Mr Pratap added.
