JPCL organises 3-day PCNL workshop at Nadiad from Sep 18
Nadiad, Gujarat, Sep 16 (UNI) Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital (MPUH) and Urological Society of India (West Zone) (USI) have jointly organised a three-day long Percutaneous Nephro Lithotripsy (PCNL) workshop at the Jayaramdas Patel Academic Centre of MPHU here from September 18.
The workshop 'BASIC TO ADVANCED : THE ART OF PCNL'is aimed at to expose the participants to various techniques and complications of PCNL, a MPUH statement said here today.
PCNL is a technique developed by renowned German Urologis Dr Peter Alken to remove or treat a kidney stones by inserting a tube through the skin and into the kidney, under a general anaesthetic.
Most attractive feature of the workshop is Dr Alken's attendance. During the workshop Dr Alken will conduct India's first Live operative workshop on PCNL technique on patients.
The workshop has so far attracted 70 Urologists from every nook and corner of the country.
We will be showing maximum number of procedures covering basics to advanced techniques of PCNL, demonstrated by other national faculties.
Every day there shall be hands-on lab experience on state-of-the-art simulators. On the last day, there will be a session on ureteroscopy. We have also planned for LIVE transmission from Cleveland Clinic, USA, on Robotics on Ureteroscopy.
JPAC is probably the only Centre in India to have simulators on PCNL, Flexible URS, TURP, and others, the statement added.
