BJP to stage 'morcha' in Aurangabad tomorrow
Chandrapur, Maharashtra, Sep 16 (UNI) BJP will stage a ''morcha'' to protest the alleged failures of the Maharashtra government in Aurangabad tomorrow, to coincide with the first day of the two-day meeting of the state cabinet to be held there.
Speaking to reporters here today, BJP All India General Secretary Gopinath Munde said the ''morcha'' would highlight issues like the agrarian crisis, the large number of suicides by distressed farmers and load shedding.
The implementation of the two relief packages announced by the union and the state government for farmers in Vidarbha left much to be desired, he said.
The Party was prepared for elections to the state legislative assembly, he said.
Asked who the party would project as the candidate for the post of Chief Minister, Mr Munde retorted, ''We are only projecting (senior BJP leader) L K Advani as our prime ministerial candidate. The BJP and the Shiv Sena would contest the assembly election as allies, and the party with the higher number of elected legislators would get to nominate the chief minister.'' he reiterated.
Mr Munde, along with BJP state unit chief Nitin Gadkari, was here for a Vidarbha-level meeting of party office bearers.
