AIAI urges PN for reduction in petroleum prices
Mumbai, Sept 16 (UNI) All India Association of Industries (AIAI), in a representation submitted to the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh by Mr Vijay G Kalantri, President of AIAI, has requested the Government for reduction in petroleum prices in view of the prevailing international price, which has come down from USD 150 per barrel to around USD 90, with a likelihood of further reduction in prices due to slow down.
AIAI feels the reduction in petroleum prices will bring down inflation and burden on the common man because of the essential commodities prices which had flared up.
The Government should take decision forthwith in this regard.
This will increase the present momentum of growth in Industry as well as in Agro, Transport and allied sector. It will also bring down the inflation in the country and would be in the interest of the public, a release issued by AIAI said.
