Somnath congratulates Saina on winning Chinese Taipei Grand Prix

New Delhi, Sep 15 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today congratulated Saina Nehwal on winning Chinese Taipei Grand Prix Badminton Championship.

The Lok Sabha speaker wished luck to Saina and hoped that the 18-year-old Hyderabadi girl will go on to bring many more laurels to the country.

Earlier yesterday, Saina defeated Malaysia's Li Ya Lydia Cheah in straight sets 21-8, 21-19 to bag the Chinese Taipei Open Grand Prix Gold and become the first Indian woman shuttler to win two Grand Prix championships.

Last month, Saina had performed creditably to reach the quarter-finals at the Beijing Olympics.
