Shabana, Naseer to receive Jamia honour

New Delhi, Sep 15 (UNI) Social historian Kapila Vatsayan, actors Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah and Delhi Metro Managing Director E Sreedharan will be conferred the honoris causa degrees by the Jamia Millia Islamia University for their contribution to society.

The degrees will be conferred on them on October 30 at the University's convocation, said a JMI spokesperson.

A decision to this effect was taken by the Executive Council.

Eminent writer Prof U R Ananthamurthy will be guest of honour at the Convocation.

A weeklong festival Talimi Mela will also be organised at the University from October 29.
