Ratan Tata in global advisory board of Nanobiosym

Mumbai, Sep 15 (UNI) Nanobiosym, a leading nanotechnology firm, today announced that Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata has joined the firm's global advisory board.

''I am honoured to welcome Mr Tata to our Global Advisory Board,'' Nanobiosym Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Dr Anita Goel, who has completed her PhD from Harvard and is an MIT-trained physicist and physician, said in a release here, adding that his presence would enable the company chart a practical roadmap for bringing cutting edge technologies into emerging global economies and extend their reach to broad markets at the 'bottom of the pyramid.' Nanobiosym has developed Gene-RADAR, a portable nanotechnology platform, that can rapidly and accurately detect genetic fingerprints from any biological organism. Dr Goel's vision is to give patients worldwide real-time access to their own diagnostic information through low-cost handheld devices that could detect the disease from a single drop of blood or saliva.

Commenting on the move, Mr Tata said Nanobiosym was working on the forefront of Nanotechnology revolution and was looking forward to closely work with the organisation.
