Rashid hogs limelight at Golden Greens Amateur

By Staff

Gurgaon, Sep 15 (UNI) After playing flawless golf to win the Northern Indian Amateur, with a strong field in attendance, all eyes will again be on Rashid Khan at Golden Greens Amateur.

The LG Amateur Golf Tour moves to Golden Greens Golf Resort for the sixth leg of this season. All the top amateurs would be in action this week including the talented Manav Das who missed out on the Northern Indian Amateur.

''I am in form and I would like to take that momentum into this tournament and we will see how it turns out,'' Rashid said.

Rashid would be hoping for another win this week to consolidate his position on the Order of Merit list.

Halfway into the season, Gagan Verma is leading the list but with a long way to go the race to the top is still wide open and a number of players are still in contention.

More than hundred golfers registered for the pre qualifying round but since most of the top 40 in the Order of Merit list are playing this week only 50 golfers could make it to the main draw.

Rashid surprised everyone with a remarkable four day score at the Northern India Amateur; it remains to be seen if someone can leave the pack behind and score somewhere in the vicinity of ten under par which would be nothing short of a remarkable achievement.
