Punjab singer issues notice to Sameer, Himesh Reshammia
Jalandhar, Sep 15 (UNI) Blaming the music director Sameer and renowned singer Himesh Rashammia for intentionally steeling his composition of a popular song and using it in his latest movie ''Karz'', an NRI Punjabi singer today issued legal notices to both of them and claimed damages of Rs five crore.
The singer, Kulwinder Kally, in his notice claimed that the number 'Soniye Je Tere Nal Daga Main Kumawn Rab Kare Main Mar Janwan' was his composition in his music album 'Sham Wali Gaddi'.
The song was written by Shaonki Khan of Pakistan. Kally further claimed that he had the copyrights of this number.
Kally in his legal notice demanded damages of Rs five crore as compensation from the music director and Reshammia for violating the Copyright Act.
He warned that if within 15 days, the duo did not respond he would initiate criminal proceedings against them in court.
