Gulbarga, Sep 15 (UNI) Inquilab-E-Deccan Editor and Publisher Moiden Pasha today lodged a police complaint against former Karnataka Minister and Congress Legislator Qumar-Ul-Islam alleging that the later's followers have threatened him of dire consequences for publishing a news item against him.
Mr Pasha has also written letters to Home Minister Dr V S Acharya and Legislative Assembly Speaker Jagadish Shettar seeking security.
He said that in a cheque bounce case a Court in Hyderabad had issued a warrant against Mr Islam on September Five. Mr Islam had issued a Cheque for Rs 42 Crore to Syed Akbar and the cheque bounced and the court had issued the warrant and this news was published in his news paper.
He said that Mr Islam's followers also burnt the news papers and written threatening letter. "If this is the situation media can not function independent manner". he had stated.
