Chennai, Sep 15 (UNI) Nine-times World Billiards Champion Geeth Sethi and his prodigy Pankaj Advani dazzled on the green baize to start their campaign on a winning note in the Alliance Group ASCA All India snooker tournament here today.
While Sethi taught a lesson or two to Vijay Nichani of Tamil Nadu winning the five frame Group ''F'' contest 3-0, Advani of ONGC, was qually emphatic against Varun Kumar before winning by a similar margin in Group A.
Nichani later crashed out of reckoning losing his second match to Rafat Habib 3-1.
But the day's honours went to Manan Chandra of ONGC, who stunned Prempraksh in Group B. Manan wrapped up the first three frames in just 25 minutes winning 98-0, 86-1, 72-26, baffling his rival.
The unfinished 98 break in the first frame by Manan virtually sank Prampraksh, who looked clueless and surrendered meekly.
