BMW injures a couple on the bike in Delhi
New Delhi, Sep 15: BMW is again the cause of another accident. But, there was no casualty this time. A BMW car hit the couple on the bike near Ferozeshah Road crossing on Sunday, Sep 14 evening. Anita suffered injuries on her head, back and her hand while her husband, Tarun had his nose and right leg injured.
"We have detained the driver of the BMW car but no case has been registered so far. A complaint has been filed and we will have a customary identification parade later. The sequence of events will be clear only after further investigation," said a police official. He added that the BMW accident this time was not serious and the couple was out of danger.
The driver, Rupesh, was then taken to the police station for interrogation. According to eyewitnesses, the car hit the bike from a side following which Anita was thrown in the air and fell over the bonnet of the car. Tarun also fell on the road. The bike was dragged for about 10 metres because of the impact and the windscreen of the car was also shattered, eyewitnesses added. "Anita's injury seemed external and she was conscious when brought to the hospital. However, further tests will tell how severe her head injury is. Her husband, however, only required first-aid," said an official at RML.
