Amarinder ridicules Badal for trying to 'bribe' Patiala
Chandigarh, Sep 15 (UNI) Former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh today ridiculed his successor, Parkash Singh Badal for his naive and foolish attempts to bribe the people of Patiala.
In a statement issued from London and distributed amongst mediapersons here, Capt Singh remarked, "it is sheer naivety on part of Mr Badal to presume that he can bribe the people of Patiala with Rs 250 crore so that they overlook his acts of omission and commission so far" Reacting to Mr Badal's announcements made at Patiala yesterday, Capt Singh said that the people of Patiala had a strong and emotive relationship with him and his family for over 250 years, when his forefather Baba Aala Singh founded the city of Patiala.
Moreover, people of Patiala understand the motive behind Mr Badal's promised bounty as the timing itself explained everything, he added. The scion of the Patiala royal family pointed out that the people of Patiala had returned him to the assembly twice.
