Raising anti CRPF slogans, thousands of people, including Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Mohammad Yaseen Malik and senior separatist leader Javid Ahmad Mir, gathered near the shrine at Saraibala today. They alleged that the CRPF entered the shrine with shoes and damaged window panes, windows and other articles there yesterday during the procession in the area. The processionists, demanding immediate action against the CRPF personnel, who desecrated and damaged the Shrine, alleged that window panes of more than 100,00 houses besides mosques and other religious places were damaged by the CRPF in the Kashmir valley during the past one month.

On Saturday, Sep 13 immediately after the news spread about the desecration of the shrine, thousands of people visited there and clashed with CRPF and police who burst teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge. However, situation in other parts of the city was by and large normal.
