Rs 739 cr being spent on power reforms in Kashmir
Srinagar, Sep 14 (UNI) The Power Development Department (PDD) has realiszed Rs 69.67 crore as power tariff from the consumers in the Kashmir valley where uUnder Prime Minister's Reconstruction Programme(PMRP) Rs 739.58 crore are being spent for power reforms.
An official spokesman said here today that Rs 69.67 crore have been realised by PDD from the consumers by August end this year in Kashmir division as power tariff.
He said for power reforms Rs 739.58 crore is being spent for in the valley. Rs 130.22 crore have been spent by August end this year on 29 power development schemes under execution in the division, he added.
He said that under PMRP upgradation of 220/132 KV grid station, Zainakot from 300 MVA to 450 MVA at a cost of Rs 27.38 crore and 132/33 KV grid station Pampore from 150 MVA to 200 MVA at a cost of Rs 6.68 crore is under execution.
For upgradation and improvement of transmission and distribution system, the construction of 220 KV and 132 KV transmission lines is under progress at Budgam, Anantnag, Sopore, Srinagar, Khonmoh, Rawalpora, Bandipora, Shopian, Mattan, Wanpoh, Vilagam Kupwara and Banihal.
Spokesman said that Rs 9.27 crore are being spent for stabilisation of existing transmission lines, grid stations, repairing of transformers, upgradation of receiving stations and other civil works during the current fiscal in the division.
