Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) BJP national president Rajnath Singh today vowed to 'cleans-up the country from terrorist activities' if BJP came to power at the Center after the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a largely attended public meeting 'Vijaya Sankalpa rally' here today, the BJP president lambasted the slack and weak attitude adopted towards terrorists and their activities by the UPA government which has led to the present situation.
Stating, ''if the BJP-led government comes to power at the center it will declare a ''war against terrorism and cleans-up the country from terrorist activiteis.'' Taking strong exception for not executing the Supreme Court order agaisnt Mohammed Afzal who was convicted in the conspiracy case in the attack on Parliament and sentenced to death, Mr Singh declared that the first act of the BJP government if it came to power would be to implement the court order against him.
He also criticised the UPA government for having repealed the POTA Act, the only law which existed to deal with anti-national forces and terrorists.
Later, BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani said the repeated terror attacks were the result of the soft peddling of the UPA on terrorist activities due to its vote bank politics.
He said the terrorists succeeded in their plan of attack on Parliament and it could have been an end of democracy in the coutnry.
''I want to tell you loudly that after today's blast in Delhi people of the country want to be relieved from this government," he said.
''Supreme Court read the meaning behind this attack and sentenced Afzal to death but why the Center is delaying in executing the order,'' he questioned.
Referring to today's serial blasts in New Delhi which had claimed 20 lives and injured several, Mr Advani said,'' These things will continue as long as the government dose not change its policies".
