Patna, Sep 14 (UNI) Virtually ignoring the miseries and plight of flood victims gasping for relief materials in the camps, the politicians are indulging in blame game to draw mileage from the pathetic situation.
Carrying forward the RJDs tirade against the Nitish Kumar Government, Union Minister of State for Water Resources Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav told newspersons here that Mr Kumar was ''misleading'' the people to cover up his failures in taking measures for protecting the Kushaha embankment.
Referring to the Sanayal committee report, he said maintenance of Kushah embankment was ''unsatisfactory'' and it was the responsibility of the state government.
In view of the central high-level committee constituted on August 24 to probe the reasons for breach in the Kushah embankment, Mr Yadav dubbed the judicial committee constituted by the Bihar government to probe the same as ''irrelevent''.
Mr Yadav credited the relief and rescue works undertaken in the flood areas to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, alleging that the Chief Minister had totally failed in providing relief to the victims.
NCP's National General Secretary Tariq Anwar, leader of the coalition partner of the UPA, also expressed dissatisfaction over the relief work in the Kosi region where the people were facing the worst situation like 'starvation' and 'epidemics'.
He said the government officials and those engaged in the relief work lacked coordination which had further worsened the situation.
