MP: Ensure proper benefits of salary to teachers
Bhopal, Sep 14: Taking note of some districts' contractual teachers not getting benefit of dearness allowance and lack of uniformity in pay scales of Shikshakarmis in various districts, the Madhya Pradesh Government has issued instructions to district collectors and officers concerned to ensure that teachers get proper benefits of salary and allowances.
The authorities have also been instructed to bring about uniformity in their pay scale in accordance with the decision taken earlier.
The government had decided to create a cadre of teachers by merging the services of Shikshakarmis and appointing contractual school teachers from April 1, 2007, an official release said here.
As per the order, contractual school teachers appointed in teacher's cadre were supposed to be given 20 per cent dearness allowance in proportion to minimum salary.
They were also to be given benefit of dearness allowance announced by the government from time to time at the same rate.
These instructions have been reiterated to all the concerning district officers with a directive that they should fix proper quantum of salary and allowances.
The government has directed to ensure uniformity in fixation of salary of Shikshakarmis and contractual school teachers and has sent proforma of salary fixation along with the instructions, the release added.
