CBI conducts raids at Army's depot in Udhampur
Jammu, Sep 14 (UNI) The sleuths of CBI conducted surprise raids in the ordnance and the vehicle depots at the Army's Northern Command at Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources here today said.
''A CBI team last evening conducted raids in 1 SOD of Northern Command to investigate the non-skid chains seized earlier and also questioned some officers about the inferior quality of non-skid chains and other instruments supplied by a private company of Mumbai,'' sources told UNI.
Sources further said Mumbai based private company had supplied inferior quality non-skid chains and other materials used by the Army in snow-bound areas.
''The team, however, has taken the samples of the non-skid chains to test its quality while the Army higher officials denied the reports about the CBI raids but confirmed their visit to collect the samples of the seized non-skid chains and other material for testing,'' sources asserted.
