Assembly to discuss no trust motion against speaker tomorrow

Hyderabad, Sep 14 (UNI) The second meeting of the 14th session of twelfth Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly would meet tomorrow to discuss the Opposition Telugu Desam Party and Telangana Rasthra Samithi (TRS) 'no trust' motion against Speaker K R Suresh Reddy.

The TDP moved a no trust motion against speaker alleging that he was not allowing sufficient time for the opposition in the House and allegedly heeding to the dictates of ruling Congress party.

The TRS had moved a no confidence against the speaker resenting the delay in disqualifying the ten rebel MLAs under provisions of the 'Anti-defection' law for proposing and voting in favour of a candidate of another party in the Legislative Council elections last year.

Both the parties had issued whip to its members to be present at the special session of the assembly to vote in favour of the no confidence resolution.

The sessison will start at 1100 hrs with the Deputy Speaker G Kuthuhalamma reading out the notice of no cofidence and asking at least 50 members in the Hosue of 290 (five vacancies) to support the motion before placing it for discussion and voting.

The TDP has 45 members after the suspension of Addanki MLA Karanam Balaramakrishna Murthy for six months from the House on the recommendations of the Privileges Committee for his alleged remarks against the speaker.

The strength of TRS was seven, excluding the ten rebels.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Assembly K.Tuljanand Singh, in a statement said 'the twelfth Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly will meet for its second meeting of the fourteenth session at 1100 hrs on Septeber 15.
