Chennai, Sep 13 (UNI) Madras High Court disposed a writ petition praying for a direction to Tamil Nadu Government to continue to release advertisements to ''Tamil Osai'' newspaper in the same quantity and value as given in the past.

Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar disposed the writ petition after the Tamil Nadu Government informed the court it was continuing to issue advertisements to the Tamil Daily run by Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) Founder-President S Ramadoss.

The government also submitted there was no reduction in the quantity of advertisements given to the newspaper.

The petitioner prayed for a direction to the government to continue to give advertisements to ''Tamil Osai'' in the same quantity and value as given in the past.

In his petition, PMK President and MLA and Tamil Osai Publisher G K Mani contended the DMK Government, ever since it snapped its ties with the PMK, stopped giving advertisements to the paper since June 15 last.

In its counter-affidavits, the State Government submitted that till date, the State was issuing advertisements to the newspaper and it was incorrect to contend it had stopped releasing advertisements to the paper.
