SGPC to welcome PM on Oct 19 at Golden Temple

Fatehgarh Sahib, Sep 13 (UNI) The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will accord a warm welcome to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh when he goes to the Golden Temple to pay obeisance on the morning of October 19 during his two day Punjab visit.

This was stated here today by SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar.

The Prime Minister will take part in a function of the Punjab and Sind bank at the Guru Nanak Dev University at Amritsar on October 18 and would pay obeisance at the Golden Temple the following day. Dr Singh will then fly to Ropar to lay the foundation stone of the IIT there and then he will move onto Mohali for another foundation stone laying ceremony.
