Hyderabad, Sep 13 (UNI) Red alert was sounded in Andhra Pradesh in the wake of their serial bomb blasts in the National capital which claimed at least 12 people, as this historic city gets ready for the conclusion of the 12-day Ganesh festival tomorrow with immersion of tens and thousands of Ganesh idols in the picturesque Hussainsagar lake.
Over 25,000 policemen, including 11,548 drafted from other parts of the state, deployed to maintain a strict vigil to ensure the smooth conclusion of the festival coinciding with the Muslim holy month of Ramadan which began on September 2, continued thorough checking of passing vehicles.
Police asked the people to keep away from dust bins, where terrorists were likely to place bombs and inform them about any suspicious moving persons and vehicles parked at a place for long time.
