Noida, Sep 13, (UNI) Weightlifter B Prameelavalli had a clean sweep with three Gold medals as she broke three national records in the women's 63kg category on the penultimate day of the Junior National Championships here today.
The Andhra girl's exceptional efforts of 87kg, 116kg, 203kg in the snatch, clean and jerk, and aggregate respectively, helped her to win three gold medals besides creating national records in each category.
Prameelavalli was being followed by her statemate S Chandrakala, who won two silver in clean and jerk (100kg) and total lift (171kg), while Ravi Maheswari of Puducherry came second in snatch with a lift of 77kg.
In the 77kg men, UP lad Manjit Singh bagged three gold by lifting 129kg, 156kg and 285kg in snatch, clean and jerk, and aggregate respectively.
Another Andhra girl S Yamini also swept away with the top honours in the women's 58kg category with efforts of 85kg, 105kg and 190kg in snatch, clean and jerk, and aggregate respectively to bag golds in each category.
Yesterday, Ravi Kumar of Orissa smashed national junior record in the 69kg men's category snatch with a lift of 131kg while on the first day it was Sukhen Dey of West Bengal, who broke the national junior record in 56kg men's category with an effort of 242kg in total lift.
With 10 golds and five silver, Andhra Pradesh is leading the medals tally in women's section while in the men's section Chhattisgarh is at the pole position with four gold and two silver closely followed by Uttar Pradesh with three gold, three silver and one bronze.
