Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) Hailing the Amarnath agitation as 'reversal of surrender before the separatists forces', the BJP today came down heavily on 'secularist writers and thinkers' arguing for ill- conceived notion of giving up territory in the Kashmir valley and asserted that no part of India shall be allowed to secede.
Stating that the Nehruvian thinking on Kashmir was a 'monumental blunder', the BJP in its political resolution adopted in the National Executive Meeting noted that the concept of 'Kashmiryat' had been overtaken by a theocratic movement in the Valley sponsored from across the valley.
Almost an entire population in the valley had been driven out. Places of worship were destroyed and basic facilities for the pilgrims were brazenly opposed.
"Even if a fraction of this would have taken place anywhere in India, there would have been big 'hue and cry' by those preaching secularism,'' the BJP said.
Stating that the country was paying an enormous cost, the party noted that a judgement on political correctness on the Kashmir situation would now be awaited if Pandit Nehru or Jan Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was correct, the resolution said. If India had accepted the 'fundamentally falacious' argument during 1947, the country would not be partitioned but also would have stood disintegrated.
''Nation states are not built by compounding mistakes of history, Jammu and Kashmir is an intergral part of India. The BJP demands that separatist elements in the valley, including their patrons across the borders must be dealt with heavy hand. No part of the country should be allowed to secede,'' the party declared.
