MNS raises issue of use of Marathi in Public Sector
Mumbai, Sep 13 (UNI) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) today demanded that public sector companies such as banks, insurance companies and railways should promote the use of Marathi language in day-to-day business.
In a letter addressed to the heads of various public sector companies, MNS president Raj Thackeray said the Union Goverment had long ago accepted a three langauge farmula, according to which each state goverment was asked to use their mothertongue, Hindi (as national langauge) and English.
Raj has alleged that in Maharashtra, the public sector was not seriously following the guidelines, hence, it was a violation of Union Government's order as well as injustice to the Marathi langauge.
He demanded that all the banks, railway offices, insurance companies and other establishments in the state should give priority to the use of Marathi language in their day to-day business.
