By Staff

Port Blair, Sep 13 (UNI) For the first time in the history of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, four school boys of the islands have been selected to attend the National Football Coaching Camp football for the under-18 team.

The final selection trial under the aegis of School Games Federation of India will be held at Goa from September 15-30.

''All the Andaman footballers - Shanawaz, Anthony, Titus, Hamiton - and one team manager Abdul Lathif proceeded to Goa yesterday,'' Assistant Director of Sports of Andaman's Education Department Ranjith Kumar told UNI today.

If selected, these island boys will represent India U-18 SGFI team and participate in the Asian Football Championship to be held at Shenzen City, China, the Assistant Director added.

The Director advised the players to give their hundred per cent performances in the selection trial and maintain discipline during the coaching camp.

''Impress the coaches and the selection committee with your performance to get selected in the Indian team,'' the director told the players during the blessing ceremony.
