BJP wants PM, Home Min to take responsibility for recurring blasts
Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) The BJP today condemned the serial blasts in Delhi in which seven people were killed and scores injured and asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil to take responsibility for the recurring blasts in one or the other part of the country during the UPA regime.
Reacting to the serial blasts, BJP Vice-President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the main reason behind the blasts was the inability of the UPA government to get to the roots of terror. ''Some of the parties supporting the alliance and some sitting ministers were 'openly courting' terrorist organisations for enhancing their vote bank,'' he said. "Their worry is not about the sufferings inflicted on the country but about the votes they can fetch,'' Mr Naqvi said.
He said if one were to go by statistics, there had been a terrorist incident every alternative month and the terror-friendly ambience created by the UPA government had only encouraged the terrorists to feel at home and carry on with their activities with utmost impunity. ''We strongly condemn the blasts and would take all possible measures to dig out the perpetrators of these ghastly blasts killing and maiming innocent citizens''.
He said when the world was coming out with tough laws against terror, India perhaps was the only country which had made life easy for terrorists by repealing anti-terror laws like POTA. The government was yet to recommend to the President to grant her assent for the anti-terror law passed by Gujarat Assembly, he lamented.
